I came here excited and proud, yet I'm graduating with pain and tears, seeing the community becoming more and more divisive and toxic. I love this place and its people and I don't want it to crumble and deteriorate from the inside.

I'm really thankful to the MSCS department for gifting us with handwritten notes during Senior Banquet last night. It was great validation for me, specifically as a female POC who struggles with imposter syndrome.

Buried at the bottom of stop white noise's Next Steps page, they say 'our long-term objective is to inspire a campus-wide curricula/syllabi review.'
Talking about 'dismantling whiteness' is obviously the overarching goal, but that last point -the concrete action that can lead to the dsimantling of whiteness at Mac- was almost impossible to find. Hoping to hear more about this and other actions that move beyond the symbolic at the panel.

Me scrolling through Mac Confessions. Close enough to cringe, far enough to avoid getting stage 4 cancer.

To the person who called the 5 minutes of silence "radical" - I don't think you know what radical means.

I'm pretty much indifferent to stop white noise but I would like to leave some advice
1. If you make your name stopwhitenoise of course people are going to say you're racist. People have even asked if the silence was supposed to be for white people only. The name makes it sound like you're singling out a group of people based on their skin color and restricting their freedom of speech. You and your supporters have to CONSTANTLY justify the movement by saying that it's not the intention, doesn't that sort of say something about the ineffectiveness of the name?
2. I had nothing against the silence itself, but the way it was executed was poor. Put up posters at the time of the event. Get your squad up there and announce your cause. Making Facebook posts doesn't cut it. I was there and a lot of people definitely did stay silent, but some people just looked confused.
3. Don't confront your haters. You'll inevitably have people who disagree with your movement. You can try to change their mind, but really they will always think you're angry SJWs, special snowflakes, racists, etc.
The only reason I made this anonymous is because I really don't want to be labeled for my beliefs on this matter. It would probably only get me negative attention, both online and offline.

IDK who runs this page but please stop posting obvious trolls and blatantly racist, personal, or VIOLENT confessions.
You have the option to not approve everything, use it.

Fuck whoever said "Fuck Kevin the dog." He is the goodest of boys on campus and the glue that holds us together. You aren't even worthy to gaze upon his golden coat.
