#1209 Heres a quick fun fact for the minority of people who think that the football players are meat heads: around 70% of the football team has above a 3.0 cumulative GPA, with the average GPA being around 3.4. With most of the players being either hard science or econ majors, as well as the added merit of the institution we attend, you can assume this is very difficult to do. Several players are published and many have research positions with the faculty. We aren't here because of "pulled strings," we're here because we stood out in academics and athletics. We went through the same admissions process as everyone else, and we all get screwed by FAFSA just as much as the rest of you. We aren't your average meat-head football players from your high school, so stop letting your previous experience with athletes affect your judgement. Also all of the support that we've received from our fellow students and faculty has been so incredible. Thank you all!
