To me, the Hamline Plan seems a lot more generous than taking required generals at other colleges. Here, we can choose which classes we aspire to take and learn things that pertain to our own interests. For example, if you're not a fan of math, you only have to take one course to satisfy the Hamline Plan. It also seems that most majors have a broad range of letters in their courses as well, so not all of the plan needs to be done independently from your designated major(s). Lighten up, Pipers!

My parents got married exactly one month after I was born. They like to tell me it wasn't my fault that they got married, but I don't believe them. I have moved twelve times in my life. I am the oldest of three kids, and I have spent my whole life helping raise my siblings. I had to do this because my parents are alcoholics. That's why I don't drink. My parents have hated each other for as long as I can remember, and they separated about four years ago, but they still live together for financial reasons. This is why I never want anyone to come in to my house, because it's a constant battle between them. We are poor. We have food stamps. All of this is a part of who I am, but I never tell anyone. I'm far too ashamed. I know that people have it worse than me, but it doesn't change what I've been through and what I live with. My parents aren't horrible, and I love them, they just make things difficult. I guess I'm confessing this just to say it because I don't have anyone in my life that I can say it to. Sometimes it's nice to just say things. To just get them out of your head. So, thanks for reading this, and thank you for letting me say it.

I'm terrified to graduate. I don't know what I want to do with my life. I'm not overly sure of what my skill sets are. I thoroughly hope I'm not the only one who shares this fear.
