I should be graduating today. I should be out with family and friends celebrating my success. I should be moving on to a new part of my life waving goodbye to to Augsburg but smiling, warmly remembering the good times and all the things I've learned. But I'm not. None of those things are happening right now. Why? Because I spent the last 3 years screwing around. I never thought it would be a big deal. But watching many of my best friends graduate today, as happy as I am for all of them, has made me feel worse than I have in a very long time. I feel stupid for wasting my time here. I feel stupid because I'm not graduating with my friends today. But mostly I feel stupid because I know I could be. You know what isn't fun? Doing homework, writing papers, and studying for finals. Do you know what's even less fun. Dissapointing yourself because you've failed to do something you know you could have. As mad as I am with myself, I've found a new motivation. I am going to graduate next year and I don't give two hot fucks what it takes to make that happen. To all those graduating today, congratulations. Enjoy this day. I can't wait to join you in the graduated ranks next spring.
