"I'm an atheist, but I don't think that there's anything wrong with praying after a tragedy. It's when people do NOTHING else but just pray and then act like they've done all they can to help, that's when I get annoyed. If you want to use prayer to comfort yourself or seek spiritual guidance, that's fine. But a holier-than-thou attitude of "I prayed, so I don't need to do anything else to help" is problematic."

The cultivation of a healthy mind is just as important as donating blood and doing something else of the sort in the material world. Do I believe that religion causes harm in the world? Yes.
