675 "It took me two years. After more failed tests than I can count, so many appointments with S^3 counselors telling me I was a failure and never going to make it here, I found the right major and found a reason to love being here. Two years is a long time to wait for that. I wish I knew how to share that kind of faith with others who struggle."

#671 "I don't understand why this page is not moved inside the MIT network (https://www.facebook.com/groups/groupsatmit/), so that we don't have to deal with the opinions of trolls. Any one can make confession at this point, and a lot of trolls who don't understand our culture just pop in to spread BS. I for one have little interest in seeing "confessions"from non students/affiliates. To the gentleman from the school which adds ~250 people per annum (out of 651 - yield of 38%), I think your world view is extremely narrow and stupid. I got rejected by CalTech because of money, I freely admit that. Im poor, but I never let that get in the way of education, having always taken the most challenging work, and participating (also winning awards)in prestigious International events. Money stopped me at CalTech, but MIT took me in. And guess what? This poor, underprivileged, free-food pimp did far better than grad students/ juniors&seniors when he took advanced classes in his freshman year. Yet that does not mean that I automatically think that your money/race makes you dumb either. Of course you can say all MIT's students are stupid (but that will make one wonder where the majority of 400 missing people from CalTech go to), but if I were to judge by your perspective, I will be compelled to say most of the whites and over 75% of Asians got in because of family/diversity/money, because there is no other way people could be so intellectually sub-par. However I don't do that. Im glad that people here are not carbon copies of each other, and that we actually add to each others experiences (perhaps a fact that may be lost to a school ~1/5 of MIT's size wrt undergrads). I help people with their classes, and though I don't deny that sometimes Im nearly screaming in frustration, I actually enjoy my living environment. So to you sir, Im not unhappy that I was not one of the ~400 who could say this to your school (nor do I want to, I shouldn't judge an univ based on this small a ~sample size)but I have no hesitation to tell you: Fluorine Uranium"
