I see people on this page everyday trying to joke about privilege, making sexist and racist comments. As funny as you may think they are, it has a different effect on the group you are targeting. If you have a hard time seperating humor with discrimination or racism I suggest to either pick up a textbook on race, ethnicity or sexism or dont open your mouth.
Sometimes being the factual one in an argument sucks because the other party seems to focus on the emotion or fear-mongering rather than listen to factual evidence brought about by actual research studies. I'm the type that brings up arguments from actual scientific communities when discussing GMOs with people as well as criminological research when it comes to the recidivism trends. Sure, new tech and criminals are scary (if you don't research them) but you can't let that dictate your opinion completely. You need evidence to back you up or else it is an empty argument.
