Investigations take longer than they do in crime dramas. Assuming that all of the information is known, reviewed, and ready for public consumption within only a day or so is really naive. It takes time for forensic teams to go through everything because they need to be careful and thorough so that anything that is released isn't misleading or faulty. When people make decisions only on limited information, there is a possibility for error. Also, eye witnesses have been scientifically proven to be some of the most faulty sources of evidence. That's just basic neuroscience. That's why people should reserve judgement on really serious cases until there is evidence available. If the evidence shows that there is something wrong, then yes, get mad. If the evidence shows otherwise, try and find a way to make something good from the situation.

I feel like so much of the sexual violence talk on campus excludes the fact that women can be perpetrators too. I wish men were more involved in such issues. I just wish people were more aware that it works both ways. A sober female from our campus recently raped a drunk male. Why the hell is the blame still put on the male?? Why aren't these crimes looked at the same no matter the gender of the perpetrator and victim? Please be aware that men can be violated by women as well.
