#5282 I think what really bothers me about certain students here is the inability to have any real conversation about issues. It's always "this is the way it is" and if you disagree it's racist/homophobic/just plain wrong, rather than simply a different perspective from the one they hold. It's convenient, because there's no need to back up your argument with reasoning or examples if you can simply shut down everyone by crying ignorance, but it doesn't inspire a lot of hope in me for any real change if the advocat es of a cause can't even discuss potential flaws in their own argument.

#5280 I am absolutely horrified at the way activists carry themselves around this school. They will stomp over anyone in their way in order to show that their opinion is superior. When you start invalidating the perspectives of other gay people simply because they do not view something the same way you do, you're no longer fighting for the LGBTQ+ people. You are fighting only for yourself and your skewed savior complex.

It's not a gossip site, it's a confessions site. Meant for people to confess their experiences and their thoughts. Sometimes those include the topic of racial inequality. I'm not claiming that an argument on here is the most productive way to discuss such topics, but if the school is using this forum for such issues instead of discussing things as mundane as sex and drugs, that's a small sign of actual education going on here.
#5276 I'm dating a soldier and although he hasn't been deployed yet, we are still a long distance couple and live in different states. We've been together for, about, six years. He gave me one of his name tapes (the patch with their last name on it) in the mail. I confess, I sleep with it above my bed. He's my angel and my protector.
