#5098 Over thinking ruins you. Ruins the situation, twists things around, makes you worry and makes everything much worse than it actually is. I'M TALKING TO YOU AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.

#5094 Asking this question because I'm genuinely curious about the differing view points on the matter. This isn't meant to offend anyone nor cause argument. My question: "Is it possible to be racist towards white people?" Instead of asking "is it possible for ___ people to be racist towards white people?" I've left the question with an ambiguous "doer" rather than a specific one. I've seen and heard arguments on Yikyak, and all over the internet, about this topic. One side says it's impossible to be racist towards white people, the other disagrees. I stand somewhere in the middle. My opinion is that it's hard to be racist towards "white" people as a whole, especially taking population majorities and minorities into account. But, what about the breakdowns of cultures that make white people white? Is it possible to be racist towards Greek people? Polish people? French people? Irish people? Eastern European people? Russians? Racism is defined by Webster as, "a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race; racial prejudice or discrimination." Is it only possible for white-subcultures to be racist towards other white sub-cultures? Can POC be racist towards any of these sub-cultures? Is this still racism, but maybe from a strain less damaging than the one faced by POC? Go ahead and discuss in the comments. Disclaimer: this is in noway trying to downplay the obvious and concrete racism faced everyday by POC all throughout the world, especially with regards to the terrible police injustice we've seen recently. This serves only as a side discussion. There is no intention here to eclipse POC's more vivid struggles with racism. Hopefully this will make for a good discussion, but I would ask that the moderator delete this post if the discussion starts becoming offensive or messy.

#5093 To the person who posted all of the "white silence = white consent" and "#blacklivesmatter" flyers all over Bush... Thousands of African-American males are killed in gang-related violence each year. Where's the black community's outcry over that? Does black silence = black consent? Or do #blacklivesmatter only when there's a white person involved? Racism is real, and it's shameful. Make no mistake. And every other ethnic group, from Asians to Italians to even the Irish have faced it at some point or another in American history. Yet they've all managed to overcome it. So maybe it's time for the black community to take a long hard long in the mirror. It might have less to do with the color of your skin and more to do with the fact that your subculture butchers the English language, discourages education, and produces "role models" who brag more about making new single mothers every night, selling drugs, and popping bottles than actually contributing anything to society. For every Barack Obama and Neil deGrasse Tyson, there seems to be a hundred wannabe Jay-Zs and Lil Waynes. Pull your fucking pants up and start asking instead of "axing" and maybe we'll get somewhere with race relations in this country.
