#2423 I'm all about the fresh #content that this page is bringing (mmmm, I love me some salt) but how about we stop anonymously flaming individuals by name. Also stop being racist. Confessions can be fun or they can fuck your day up.

#2416 I have been plugging Depeche Mode's new album to my friends and I have tried to love it, but now that it has been out for a week my feelings about it have mellowed. I just don't think it merits a lot of the praise it has been getting. After the album leaked (in abysmal quality) people were hyping it as the best since Ultra, which heightened my expectations. In my opinion, the only thing that has changed for the better is the production. The chord progressions and arrangements are still plain. Dave has improved but he remains a weaker songwriter in comparison to Martin, though even Mart's lyrics are no stronger than they were on SOTU or Delta Machine. Dave wrote a few catchy verses in Poorman but as a whole the song is blunt and not very inspired. I expect more from Martin than what we got in WTR. As far as the songs he sings go, Eternal isn't great, though Fail makes up for it. But I am forcing myself to get last the awkwardness/badness of some of the lyrics just in order to enjoy the album. Ultimately their back catalogue is the only thing that gets a reaction live. Good thing they are still able to close their concerts with songs like NLMDA or Everything Counts. I just hope this tour isn't a let down.
