#2431 The pick up volleyball group is the worst group of snobs. You don't need the LC gym 4 days a week.
#2430 Some of the dancers on campus are super hot...
#2429 There is a difference between being angry and being mean.
Sometimes, something somebody has said or done has hurt you–even subtly or intentionally–and all you can feel is anger. Maybe all you can say in response is "this hurts me." Maybe all you can say is "fuck this and fuck you." Sometimes you have to expel someone from your community. You don't have to be civil. You don't have to be the one to educate them. I support you in your anger.
But it's something else to focus on an individual and shame them and bully them. I can't support you digging through someone's life, looking for evidence against them. I can't support you using their words to try to destroy their social standing. If what you feel is not anger at how this person has hurt you or people you care about, but rather glee at the chance to tear somebody down, then I can't support you.
It's not your job to protect the feelings of the people that hurt and oppress you. But it's also not your right to look for excuses to hurt other people.
#2428 I want to tell my crush how I feel so badly but I'm afraid of making things awkward and runing our developing friendship. I can't help but wonder if telling them could result in a great relationship though...
#2427 S/O to the Men's Tennis player and teammates who thought it was 100% okay to mock and laugh about the essay you were supposed to be reviewing. You making a joke that your International Student peers who wrote it "should have at least one person in the group who knows English" and "some one should have reviewed this". Going on to then say "I mean, they're Asians, you know?..."
Shame on you.
You should absolutely be ashamed for being so inconsiderate and presumptuous of the hardships others face.
You fail to recognize your own ignorance and experiences and proceed to judge others unfairly because of it.
Your teammates and I failed to correct you in this, and therefore shame on us.
I wonder how much your thinking hurts everyone.
#2426 To be completely honest, Macalester shouldn't be spending so much money on a new theater building, especially after just completing Janet Wallace. There are very few theater and dance majors that would actually benefit from the new building. Plus, they already have a usable space there, which really isn't that bad. That money should be spent on useful projects, like desperately needed dorm space. Also, while the new building is being constructed valuable study space will be lost. Mac is taking the "arts" of liberal arts too seriously. We should be getting a balanced education, not just music, dance, and theater!
#2425 I think all people should get affirmative action.
#2424 Really nice people freak me out.
