I am a leftist but I think weeds should be illegal just as cigarettes should be. I am appalled to know many of my leftist peers do not agree. And yeah, alcohol should be banned too as it numbs your will and makes you a fucked-up wimp.
I don't mean to attack Kevin and friends, but can we plz try to get hypoallergenic / not furry friends to campus? Every time I see the dogs the allergies are counterintuitive to stressrelief. I wanna pet something too!!!!!! Chickens and lizards poss??
To the alumni that comment on everything: shouldn't you be at work or something?
Prick a conservative and a fascist bleeds...
having to "identify" sucks. having to collect signifiers to prove an established and well-curated identity, to delineate exactly which communities you're part of and which "spaces" you should have "access" to, sucks. "privilege" discourse is harmful because it allows the illusion that if you identify and name your privilege, your place within the processes and structures of society has somehow been changed
Nuance doesn't seem to be a strong suit for anyone here, does it?
If you get away from all of his bluster and douchebaggery and look exclusively at the policy, there is no difference between Trump and a mainstream Republican. Other than his axing of TPP (which I, and probably most of this campus, agree with) everything he has enacted is in line with Republican policy. That's why I think it's ridiculous for Republicans to distance themselves from Trump and for the media to distance them from one another. He's not an anomaly; he is the logical extension of Republican policy for the last 30+ years.
Some people from any walk of life do shitty things. Soldiers, but also cops, politicians, priests, teachers, newspaper editors, and literally everything else. And people who hurt people and kill people are in the wrong. And should be held accountable, not defended. But you have to support the hundreds of thousands of men and women in uniform who do not set the policy. Do not want to kill. Do believe they're doing the right thing. And are in harms way regardless. Hold the military as a whole more accountable. But support the troops. Support the veterans. Not because you agree with the wars they've fought and are fighting. Because in many cases, they absolutely need it to survive and get their lives back. Not the only community that needs support, so don't come back with "why aren't you saying support the _______?" Yeah, support them too. Just also don't be an asshole to some people in need just because they're not up to your moral standards of what justifies care for the wounded, sick, or grieving.
