I think I didn't make my point clear enough.
Look at the disparity between the compassion you feel for the victims of the marathon bombing versus the compassion you feel for victims of terrorist attacks overseas.
Do you think that the proximity of the incident and/or the nationality of the victims warrants that disparity?
Should the media perpetuate the idea that Americans be this much more sensitive towards American casualties than international casualties?
Should you put more weight on the life of an American stranger than the life of an Iraqi stranger?
I don't. I've made peace with my opinion, and I think anyone who thinks otherwise is a patriotic idiot.
@Richard Lu: That's a flawed analogy. The victims of both the Iraqi bombings and the marathon bombing are strangers to you. It's a bit different than your child vs. someone else's child.
@David Boceck: Did you mourn for both? Did Americans in general mourn for both? Does our President mourn for both? If you say yes to either of the latter 2 questions, you're an idiot.
