Does anyone else think it's shitty, or just a tad insensitive, that a white girl from school went to Denny Kemp in an animal print top to get her hair crimped and texturized RIGHT AFTER the story about a black woman being ridiculed for her natural hair at the same salon went viral?
I hate life. I hate how things never go right and I'm sick of people minimizing my pains.
Thoughts?

The founding fathers wrote the 1st amendment to protect the freedom of speech in this country, making sure that no one would be censored just because the government or a large group of other citizens disagreed with them. They felt that this was the most important thing that would define this nation, as their entire revolution was sparked by the sharing of ideas that the British empire wanted to suppress. Then they looked at the first amendment and quickly realized something. They realized that if the American government were to one day become corrupt and oppressive, that the people would need the tools to stand up against them if need be. This is why the 2nd amendment was drafted, to ensure that the citizens of this country would have the ability to protect themselves from both criminals and an oppressive government alike. A "well regulated militia" is often misinterpreted in the modern era that has forgotten the meaning of these words in the late 1700s. Well regulated simply means a group that owns its own items, in this case the weapons. Militia simply refers to a group with weapons. They end this amendment by specifically stating that it shall not be infringed upon, so citizens know the importance of the amendment itself, and the ability to stand up to itself. That is why banning guns from America is not the correct response to any shooting. The correct response is to help educate people about gun safety, how to protect themselves in the event of a shooter, and how to protect others.
Before anyone says, "but the US government has drones and tanks!", realize that there have been studies that show that, in the event of an uprising to protect the 1st or 2nd amendment, it's estimated about 50-70% of the US military would stand with the citizens of the United States over the government, and that the US government would never risk the PR nightmare internationally of civilian casualties due to high explosive devices in a civil war, as it could spark a complete third world war.
In the scope of everything that has happened, nothing will be done. Everyone will be able to keep their guns, a prejudice towards Islam will still be prevalent, and the majority of Americans will move on with their lives to await the next mass murder. The only amount of change that will be done is the changing of a profile picture filter.
I shouldn't have to sleep with a knife.
To the Clinton supporter below: part of being in a democratic society is voting for someone who represents our interests best. I'd rather stab myself in the thumb than vote for either Trump or Clinton, and I really, really don't want to do that. If a third party candidate appeals to me, why shouldn't I exercise my right to vote for them?
how can i join the board of trustees?
