there is a fight, today, one that harks at the meaning of humanity, one that shows there may be compassion over brutality and justice over injustice.
there is a fight today that has enraptured a nation, my nation.
there is a bigger fight here than the one in Vegas, and as much as i care about that, i care more that work is done in Baltimore and this entire country moving towards criminal justice reform, because "rough rides" and "nickel rides" and any kind of police brutality...which happens every damn day... must stop. it seems like this is the only country in which you can be arrested for no reason, punished for no reason, killed for no reason. it's not enough that six cops are charged with assault. when will things be righteous in america?

Anyone else notice that the healthier the economy is, the less healthy the planet is? If we measure success in terms of economic indicators, we are measuring success by the consumption of goods and services. If we want to develop the "planets" economy, we want everyone to consume more. But we already consuming faster than the planet can regenerate resources. JK GOOD THING GOD GAVE MAN DOMAIN OVER ALL OTHER SPECIES AND SAVED US A SPOT IN HEAVEN.
I dislike how the Overheard on Hamline page has turned into a fun place to post hilarious posts "overheard on campus" to certain people using the page as a platform to complain about people/things on campus in a hostile manner. Then again, ever since this page emerged, nothing funny has actually been posted.
I don't like the kind of people who blame everything wrong in their lives on their mental illnesses thinking they should just get a pass at everything. This isn't everyone of course but I have a family member and a friend like that and it just makes me angry. Have a little self accountability.
