Since it's Islamic awareness week, I have one serious question that I do not want to ask in person, however still believe it is very important to ask. In a totally non-rhetorical question, isn't it wrong to follow the Quran down to the word? Aren't matters like pedophilia, a woman needing her husband's permission to leave the house, etc. wrong?
I dislike how my friend started a rumor about me as a joke starting about a year ago, telling people at parties and whatnot, and I come back this semester and people accepted that rumor as fact. Sometimes I play along with it to entertain them, but the fact that this rumor has gained traction makes me uncomfortable and I hate being approached in Anderson or in public about it.

Why is there suddenly so much outrage over racism in America? Racism like we see today has been going on for centuries - why do people suddenly care now? This isn't rhetorical, this is a serious question.
I'm honestly pretty disappointed in what gets people outraged these days. A couple of racist police officers in Baltimore is considered outrageous and fills up the news. But on the exact same day when ISIS beheads over a hundred Ethiopians, over racist reasons, it barely even makes the news.
