I live in a suburban part of dallas that is not the safe, white suburbs (but still far from the ghetto) and I seriously hear cars driving by at top speed with engines revved as loud as possible, as often as possible. I always hear one car at a time and it seems like 20 minutes never goes by without hearing it. It just makes me think there's either way too many dumb drivers who need to chill the fuck out, or there is a hit on me and thee cars are doing this on purpose to send a message.
