#5467 I think I ruined my life and its only freshman year.
#5466 @5452 - I mean, what could possibly be wrong with posting photos of yourself giving a thumbs up or smiling with fake bullet wounds at a fake mass shooting? Smh at people's lack of sensitivity. Should we post selfies of ourselves at holocaust museums too? And funerals? Or should we maybe take a fucking second to think about our choices and realize that is probably not a wise decision. Only a second, because that's all it would take for any rational person to realize not to do these things.
#5465 @5442 So if someone refers to me as a redhead -since gingerism is considered a form of racism, should I see that as a microaggression?
#5464 I pee in the shower
#5463 Pack your things and go home, we don't want you here anymore
#5462 @5452 agreed. I saw those photos and it hurt. I know someone who was in the theater during the CO movie theater shooting. It's not a matter to be taken lightly. Those selfies at an event on that topic are extremely insensitive. Guess I'm not surprised though, considering the theater department is filled with attention whores.
#5461 This semester I've had the opportunity to work with at-risk kids. Most of these kids come from poor or abusive homes and racial minority backgrounds. I have never encountered a lot of racism despite being a minority myself, but now I am witnessing society's racism way more than I ever could have imagined. Here's the thing though. I can guarantee that not a single one of those kids who deals with severe racism on a daily basis cares about things like being called black or whatever other bullshit "micro aggressions." There are very real and serious race issues and yet "activists" here would rather pick on trivial things just for the sake of picking a fight and sounding morally superior. It must be nice to be able to have such an educationally elite perspective on race, but it's doing nothing to help people who have to struggle with it. I suggest that everyone who claims to be an advocate of diversity volunteer with people like these kids. I promise it will change your entire perspective on activism and racism to a much more productive approach.
#5460 Before you roll with a cool and hip acronym, you might want to look it up at Urban Dictionary. (i.e. SWAG.) There are a lot of alternative meanings out there, especially ones that are drug related. Just saying.
