#2515 2489 makes a valid point. Isn't making a big deal out of the race of a costume perpetuating the idea that race is an issue? Granted,dressing as Trayvon Martin is pretty insensitive regardless of his race, but as far as other costumes go, people saying that you should not wear any costume that requires you to pretend to have darker skin is a racist concept. People should be allowed to dress as any race for their costume because race shouldn't matter. If I want to dress up as somebody for Halloween and that person happens to be black, why is it wrong to make my costume more accurate by changing my skin color? Why is it wrong to pretend to be black? Why does it fucking matter? Black skin is not a bad thing.
