I get frustrated when white-passing mixed people (especially those with "white" names) play the victim card when they should know damn well that they haven't faced the same level of oppression as brown and black people. (I also find it awkward when mixed people call themselves white-passing when they're not. I mean, context matters, but yeah, makes me feel weird...)

lets be honest tho the white students just didnt want to write a paper and tokenized a bunch of students of color, like susanna, into performing a pointless gesture that does nothing to address racism. if anything, it has contributed to racism as fragile white people now feel very attacked and are posting it all over this confessions page...

#stopwhitenoise was just a way for a bunch of people to get out of writing a paper. that next steps page that susanna keeps fucking posting in response to confessions about how pointless it is just as pointless. wow an annual occurance. ONCE A YEAR WE SHUTUP FOR FIVE MINUTES AND BOOM WE ARE NOW NO LONGER RACIST/CONFRONTING RACISM. like no bitch. you have been tokenized into getting white people out of writing a paper while still getting an A. you are an oppressed body that made the choice to oppress other oppressed bodies. and for that you are a despicable cunt.

I wish I could feel the anger that other students at Mac feel towards injustice and discrimination. But, honestly, I can't feel much of anything at all, and that's becoming a problem.

I have a really honest question but I'm scared to ask it because I've been conditioned by Mac to be so afraid to say anything About important things incase I accidentally Make a mistake in my language/say something offensive. So many people are irritated at the fact that SWN was all white people (ps I'm white). I didn't participate for similar reasons to that that I am having a hard time verbalizing, but at a place like Mac that is already a) so white and b) so liberal/concerned with social justice, it just felt like it wasn't really my place. So I totally get that. But I also know that people of privilege (white ppl) should use their privilege to elevate concerns of those who are oppressed. So why is this event full of white people so upsetting to so many (myself included)? Wouldn't silence by all the white ppl at Mac be condemned, too? Isn't silence irresponsible? If you say nothing, you are complicit? I'm just trying to figure out how I can feel both of those things at once. Is SWN just so irritating to me bexause it seems useless at Mac/white guilt-alleviating/kind of self-indulgent and circle-jerky? I'd like to learn about this if anyone is willing to share thoughts

1) “Call-out culture was developed to allow activist groups to confront leaders who abused their privilege, but now it is being used to settle petty scores on the level of interpersonal politics. I now have a hard time believing some people when they make call-outs because I have seen too many that were based on nothing. Call-outs have become a way to acceptably inflict social violence and rarely are followed up in any way resembling transformative justice because people are not interested in doing the hard work of working with those who are called out.” Major major thanks to Niara for doing a lot of that hard work.

Lol at some people on this campus constantly accusing everyone else of being racist. NEWSFLASH: People don't give a shit about the color of your skin. Find a new hobby that doesn't involve being a pretentious jackass to everyone you come in contact with. Sudoku, crossword puzzles, painting, all acceptable/encouraged options.
