I feel like people at Macalester just don't give a shit about ableism and mental health/disability stigma. And even those who do still look down on more severe symptoms and illnesses. I don't want your fucking pity. I want you to stop being an asshole.
Wow, I don't understand half of the topics being discussed here. I didn't grow up in a super liberal area. I'd like to think I'm pretty cautious of what I say and am liberal but now I have my doubt's. I only hope when I attend the school next year no one attacks me. I have no intention of offending people but I already know that people will think I'm ignorant just because I don't know as much.
I don't really have anything against student athletes as a whole. But it's not some huge challenge to exercise and go to practices, and it doesn't make you special.
Most understand this, but you really have to marvel at the inferiority complex that managed to produce "Athletes are trained to handle adversity from competition, coaches yelling at them, and internal dilemmas on the team. They are not coddled."
I hope the baseball team can recover from this.
Last semester there were 2 servers at west at cafe mac

Yes, as an Asian-American woman, I grew up with a lot of women (maybe also men/non-binary but certainly not as prominent in my experience) who take pride in being able to attract white men. Now I came to think that some of them may be subcounciously submitting to the exsisting power structure and perpetuating white supremacy, which seems problematic. But it's difficult to start a conversation with my family/friends about it. I have a friend who once casually told me that they only want to date a white guy, and I did not know what would be an appropriate response. I also admit having to resist the idea of white men being more attractive myself, but as I meet more people it became easier to set the prejudice aside. Any advice?
So many people on here seem like they're trying real hard to collect social justice points by screaming out any controversial opinions.
Heard on campus today outside the lib: Basketball coaches touring a recruit as they're going into the library: "So here's the library, we'll go inside and take a look--not like you'll be spending much time in here anyway!" Even if that statement was 100% a joke, is it funny to joke about athletes not studying/caring about academics?
