The Constitution doesn't offer protection to anybody who gets inside the border. What's the deal with this odd expectation that I'm supposed to care about every person who is here as if they were all citizens? Some people are simply not, by law. You think Mexico is okay with people just coming into their country and taking up residence? Think again. Or better yet, do some research.
I just keep digging my hole deeper and deeper
Dewey TheHorseWithNoName was the best thing to happen at Macalester.
i really wish it was okay to fart in public, especially when we are in a situation where we can't stop eating food that makes us gassy (cafe mac)
Girl in the library - no one gives a fuck if you are a size 0 or 2 so why have you spent the last 2 days surveying people about it
I'm not sure of I'm the only Latino who gets a little irked when people refer to the U.S. as "America"?
America is the entire continent divided by north an south. Non-US born Latinos are still American. It's a difficult discomfort to explain and not many people understand the struggle of always being seen as other in the US. You could be a 7th generation US American and because of your name or skin tone, still be perceived as a recent immigrant which carries great stigma and discrimination. We all belong and are deserving of respect just as much as anyone else, regardless of "time in the US". I'm not looking to start discourse but I'd like the Macalester community to be more aware when using this terminology.
I thought it would be better in the long term to stay in the closet but I don't know if I can do this.
I'm starting to think people are upset about the entrepreneurship space because they feel the need to be upset about something and don't want to do the work of addressing their own racism/sexism.
