Hey you Mac subculture that uses Facebook to publicly laud your undiagnosed mental illnesses... piss right off. Is it because you're insecure that you're not "oppressed" enough? Do you have identity issues? Direct your energy inward and address your glaringly obvious insecurities before spewing your "my struggle is real" shite in public, and don't use your speculated mental illness to make yourself look troubled, or tough, or whatever the hell your motives are.

Since when has it become acceptable to use the racial term yt ("whitey")? It makes my blood boil when you use that as a condescending retort to my argument. And it lumps all "white" people together as if we are all part of some huge racial conspiracy. "Whitey don't get it." That's because it's not obvious. Actually think about this for a second: would it change anything if I were black? Specifically I mean would the content of my argument change? Write your argument down on paper and suddenly its just an argument. She doesn't get it because she's white is exactly the same as she doesn't get it because she's black. They're both shit reasoning. Do to others as you would have them do to you: treat them as individuals, not members of their race, which they cannot control. Period.

This isn't anonymous, as I said this deep within comments, but in response to the confessions about anti-Semitism, shame in being Jewish, and generally because I would love to share these ideas with anyone interested, here are some resources for any of you who want to deepen/explore/interrogate your connection with Judaism. The Jewish tradition is based upon debate, challenging one another, asking questions, and seeking responses. The resources I mention (and there are SO many more resources and people at Mac who have lots more as well) are great places to turn to explore your Judaism - to think and talk about relationships between your family's history, Zionism, prayer, god, atheism, agnosticism, and Savta Helen's Kuggle, are related, and maybe to find a Jewish community you value and are proud to be a part of. I'd highly recommend looking around on Mechon Hadar's website (https://www.hadar.org/). Hadar is a Hebrew text study program based in New York with lots of online resources. One thing they do is Responsa Radio, a podcast series where a couple amazing rabbis respond to people's modern day questions by analyzing snippets of rabbinic text (which include lots of back and forth debate among rabbis). Hadar is a traditional egalitarian program, which I think does a fantastic job of making Torah equally accessible and challenging to people who don't know the Hebrew alphabet as people who went to Jewish day school. Also, there are organizations like IfNotNow and JStreet which are primarily Jewish organizations doing resistance work within the Jewish community with a specific aim of using American political power to condemn Israeli government occupation and advocate for Palestinian rights. There are local synagogues in MSP I can point you towards. Shir Tikvah Congregation, Twin Cities, MN is an awesome one with great music, a lot of LGBTQ+ congregants, a gay rabbi, and overall politics you might align with. Go to a Macalester Jewish Organization event or service (Passover seder 4/10, 6pm in Kagin). Message me, and I'll invite you over for Shabbos dinner/connect you with other Jews who would be happy to have you over for Shabbos, the holdays, or just to talk.

I desperately wish I didn't have such bad anxiety. I want to follow the advice of people on this page and just ask someone to eat dinner with me so that I could maybe make some friends, but the thought of it actually makes tears come to my eyes. I know I need to be in therapy, but that takes so much time and money that I don't have as a student. I'm miserable and I don't know what to do.

This guy from my class just has to clean his fucking glasses with some chemical spray at the beginning of class. That fucking smell literally suffocates me and lingers in my nostrils until even after the class. FML

Where’s the best non-conventional place to pee on campus? Toilets strictly prohibited.
