Racism: a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others... No matter the color of your skin, racism is present in all races.

Racism:having or showing the belief that a particular race is superior to another. Blacks CAN show racism towards whites. I'm sick of hearing by people on this campus that they can't. It certainly must be stated that there are not nearly the same implications considering the position of privilege that whites in this society hold, but I feel like denying racism where it is present is something that needs to end, regardless of how privileged the "victims" are.

You know what is really funny about these smoking comments? That these designated "smoking areas" aren't designed just for the only place of campus to smoke. You have to be 25 feet away from a building and it's funny how the smell upsets people too when we are outside and 25 feet away from the buildings that you can actually still smell smoke. Yeah I don't think so.

I found someone's phone in GLC today at around 2:10pm in the chairs by the front. I dropped it off at Safety & Security! So do not fear your phone fairy is here.... It was maybe an htc?

From the posts I see on here, it seems as though a lot of people here see the world in black and white while I'm looking at all of the grey areas that are being left untouched. Whether it is smokers vs nonsmokers, minorities vs majority, Republican vs Democrat, us vs them... Why do we always have to fight about our differences rather than working together to find compromises and middle ground? This is why humans and our government are completely messed up. We refuse to understand each other and work toward common goals and instead section ourselves off so that we don't need to deal with anyone with a slightly different opinion or view. Can't we be the generation to keep up the work toward that community and maybe even be the ones to achieve it or at least come close rather than following our predecessors into separatism?
