Dear Hamlinites,
"Liberal" "Conservative" what do these terms mean? Both are contested terms which mean many different things in many different contexts. When you call someone a liberal, it does not mean a democrat. It could mean anyone who supports a free market and individual liberties OR anyone in search of societal change or many other things. Likewise, conservative means different things in different countries with different political and social traditions / norms. PLEASE, I encourage you to educate yourself on these terms before saying "liberals love cake" and other meaningless statements. It will help you sound smart, and likely shape your political identity. Once one realizes that the US is an outlier in terms of political identity, the game changes.
