I'm happy we have a new president. I'm confused that the only merits of hers that people are talking about is that she's a) female and b) African American. It's cool that Hamline is showing an obvious lack of prejudice, but it's seems a bit patronizing that we're instantly celebrating this person simply because of their demographic. Are they actually going to be a good for this university? Nobody cares, she's brilliant because she's not a white male.
