Whenever I feel depressed about my shortcomings, I remind myself that human emotions are illusions and in no way shape or form represent reality. I am a believer in scientific rigor over instinctive judgement so just because some guy has a better gpa than me, or won a prize, or makes more money than me doesn't mean he is more beneficial to the world. When judging something that can literally decide life and death, one just can't leave things to chance.

Do campus services do anything?? They're always driving around working and making noise at the worst possible hours, but the campus has looked like shit all winter and now into spring. Mud, mulch and trash everywhere on the sidewalks, tire tracks throughout the mall, and construction going on everywhere. I feel embarrassed for those tour groups that have to see the campus like this.

Everyone thinks im very pretty and I get attention from guys but I fear that i am incapable of being loved. Im not so outgoing but im not hollow. Its like just because I am not loud, talkative and funny people think I have a weak personality. I can capture someones eye but not their heart and i hate myself for that.
